Rule Your World
Before you were formed in the body of your mother I had knowledge of you, and before your birth I made you holy; I have given you the work of being a prophet to the nations. (Jer 1:5) BBE
Introduction:
One of the difference between wealthy/ successful people and the poor/unsuccessful people is what comes to mind every morning. The successful people wake up every day thinking of what to DO. While the unsuccessful people on the other hand wake up every day thinking of what to EAT. You are wealthy when you daily think of what to do to have a better live, to impact your society and change the world positively. The question that readily comes to mind is “How do I know what to do?” the answer is simple; discover the purpose of your existence.
No matter the circumstance of your birth, you aren’t a mistake. Because the accident of birth isn’t the sole prospect of life. God has position you here on earth for a definite reason. No child is without a purpose neither is there a-born by mistake. You are born to change your world. You are born to find a solution to human problems, you are born to rule your world.
You have a destiny
It is essential you understand that you are created by God to solve a problem and your success lies in following God’s plan for your life.
5 key things that are pointers to your destiny:
1. Your Passion: Passion is an inner drive that propels you to do something. It is a strong powerful emotional will to do something, sometimes you cannot explain it but it is on the inside.
Three (3) things that defines your passion:
•
What you love: Mike Murdock said that “what you love is a clue to the gifts, skills and wisdom you possess”. What you love to do might be a clue to your purpose. It could be doing sport, writing, singing, cooking, encouraging people, inspirational talk, debating, teaching, calculating, repairing gadgets, business etc.
•
What Grieves you: Grieves are things that cause you sorrow, it might not bother other people but it causes you pains. Mike Murdock said that “what grieves you is a clue to something you are assigned to heal”. Identify what causes you grieve, it could be child abuse, poverty, homelessness, teenage pregnancy, failure etc. it is defined in the categories of people you naturally have empathy for; children, rape victims, the unemployed, widows, orphans, prostitutes, sinners, uneducated people, etc.
• What you hate: whatever you hate with a passion could be a clue to your calling. You can’t really change or correct something unless you have a God-given-hatred for. It could be hatred for sickness, injustice, sexual abuse, corruption, divorce, domestic violence, nepotism etc. what you hate is a clue to something you are born to change or correct”
2. Your Talents: these are your natural abilities; things you do without been taught. Most people zero down talent to: sports, singing, playing musical instruments and acting drama only. But there are many talents and every human being has at least one talent. Some people are talented to: write, speak in public, tell stories, cook, dress beautifully, draw artistically, showing care, motiving people, marketing and analyzing things etc. Your natural abilities are pointers to your destiny. (Exodus 31: 1-5; 37:1)
3. Your Skills: these are abilities you acquired through learning and you have mastered perfectly. The school or vocational training centers are instrumental to skills acquisition and development. How do you know the skills that are peculiar to you? Your skills are those you easily learn. Whatever, you find very easy to learn is a pointer to your purpose. It might be solving mathematical problems, repairing devices, sowing, baking etc. There is a relationship between your talents and skills. Your skills are improved and refined versions of your talents. Discovering your talents is not enough for success, you have to learn about your discovered talent. This will differentiate you from other people who have the same talent. The major difference between ordinary talented people and successful talented people is skills development because it has immersed impact on individual creativity.
4. Your Potentials: they are your currently unrealized ability. They are things you can do but you are yet to discover them. David (in 1Samuel 17: 34:35) didn’t know he could kill a lion until one attacked him. Life challenges are a major way to realize your potentials. Embrace every challenges that comes your way and overcome them in the process you will discover special abilities that you have. Another way to realize these abilities is through self-education i.e. reading wide beyond the common knowledge in your community. You can also discover your potentials be taking up the challenge to try out things you have never done before. Exposure is a key to potential realization; you wouldn’t know if you could play a musical instrument if you aren’t exposed to it.
5. Your Choice: God won’t force any man to do anything (Gen 6:3). No matter how glorious God’s plan is for you, it takes personal decision to fulfil it. Destiny will not appear from the blues you have to make it happen by daily making right choices along the line of your destiny. The choices you make today determines your future. Your tomorrow is a function of today’s choices. You can choose to develop your talents, discover your potentials and passion. Moreover, one choice is most critical which is the choice to either give your life to Jesus or not because this defines both your earthly destiny and your eternal destination. A life without Christ is a tragedy to his/her generation. The reason we have poverty, corruption, evil, terrorism in our world today is because some people have chosen to do evil. Imagine a world where everybody chooses to do what is right. Your choices can’t be separated from your destiny. For instance, if a girl decides to go for an abortion and died in the process. That is obviously not the plan of God for her life but her choice destroys her destiny. Your choice either mar or make your destiny.
How to discover your purpose?
… but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits. (Dan 11:32b) KJV
Doing exploit, prospering in life is God’s plan for you. One thing is primary, which is your knowledge about God. Knowing God start with accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior (Romans 10:9-10). It is of utmost importance that you understand that you can’t choose a purpose for your life because you didn’t create yourselves. When you buy a new mobile phone in the package you will find the user’s guide developed by the manufacture. Likewise, God created you and He has the manual for your life which is your purpose in life. It will be ridiculous to use a mobile phone as a stove, also it will be absurd to be something else apart from what God has in plan for your life.
Three (3) ways to discover your divine purpose:
1. Ask God in prayers:
Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. (Jer 33:3) KJV
2. Develop a daily communion with God (Dan11:32): Read and study your bible and pray daily. When you do this constantly you will learn how to hear from God, then He can speak to you about what He want you to do in life.
3. Get baptized in the Holy Spirit:
1Cor 2:9-10
(9) But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
(10) But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
People on your road to destiny
People are just people whatever they do define them. On your journey to destiny you will meet different people and it is your responsibility to identify them so as to classify them accurately.
1. People that will be against you
And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren: and they hated him yet the more. (Gen 37:5). They will criticize you and cast you down. When someone tells you that you are a failure or you are never going to make it, the best revenge isn’t to hate or abuse the fellow but to forgive and proof the person wrong by succeeding extraordinarily. You have to convert the bad things anyone says about or to you into success drive energy. These set of people could be anybody parents, siblings, teachers etc. never hate them. If they say you “CAN’T DO IT” don’t be angry or feel rejected “JUST DO IT”
2. People that will want to lure you into sin (Gen 39:7-15):
My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not. (Pro 1:10)
Separate yourself from anyone that want to lure you to do evil. Mostly these set of people come as friends. Identify them and say a capital NO to their proposals.
3. People you must help (Gen 40):
Don't get tired of helping others. You will be rewarded when the time is right, if you don't give up. (Gal 6:9) CEV
4. People that will connect you to where your destiny will be fulfilled (Gen41):
There are people whom God has positioned as destiny helpers. Moreover, you must develop good virtues that will attract you to them. These virtues include: honesty, diligence, humility, respect tenacity, hard work, integrity etc.
Conclusion:
You have a destiny in God and to fulfil it you must know God (Dan12:32b).
